#PlayMonday (25/04/2016)

Ninth Play Monday!

Today we drove at high speed by radio control.

Yet in the Unit’s hall, Raquel already was playing with her car and made a grand entrance in the Recreation Room. All the clients started to peek so they could figure out from where was that sound, but they quickly focused on the car. Their faces where a bit confused “There’s a car going back and forth in the room… Why?”

Well, it wasn’t just one, but four! And the four cars entered in the “racing track” so it could be drove by our clients. We were all forming a circle, clients, health professionals and even Mr J.C’s wife, that decided to visit him and that wanted to join to our play. Let’s go?

The controllers were handed to our first four drivers. Ms M. got really excited, while Ms M.H got suspicious, but she decided to see what that was and if the car was really going to start moving. It was her first PlayMonday! Mr A. didn’t want to let go the controller since the moment we handed it to him and his car did one hundred rallies and high speed!

Although at the beginning it looked like it was hard for some of our clients to control the cars, bit by bit and because of their enthusiasm, controlling them began being a natural thing.

Mr J.C was a bit confused but his wife helped him and both drove at the same time. “Turn left! To the right! Be careful, we are going to crash!”
And so it was, four different “drivers” each lap, our clients played with the cars. Some said that they never played with cars like that “That one even turns on the car headlights!” said Mr A.

Ms F. started to think that each time that a car passed near
her, that it would collide so she would avoid them with her feet.

With the help of Victor, Mr M.M drove the car and because of his decrease in visual acuity he couldn’t know the directions of the car, so in the middle of all explanations and instructions Mr M.M laughed from all the enthusiasm!

After the training with the cars, we made a race to see with were the fastest cars to arrive to the finish line, but it wasn’t a real competition, we just wanted to play a little bit more.

This time we also had new Players: the Physiotherapist and Doctor Domingos who joined to our usual PlayMonday team!

Thank you to all of you!
